Bus Rapid Transit - Blue Line (Infrastructure + Bus Operations)

The Blue Line Project is a 40 Kms long route from Bahria town to Merewether Tower via Shahrah-e-Pakistan and Numaish. Additionally, a side loop of 13kms connects the Blue Line to the Airport. Estimated ridership on the overall route is 660,000 passengers per day. As per the recommendations of the Sub-Committee formed by the Transport & Mass &Transit Department and the decision of the PPP Policy Board, the unsolicited proposal is to be evaluated by external consultants with respect to technical and financial parameters.


Following thorough evaluation of the technical bids, the consortium comprising Haidermota as Legal Consultants, Ernst Young as Financial Consultants and Osmani & Company as Technical Consultants has been selected as the preferred transaction advisors. Transaction advisors have started validation process of the proposal and the concept is under discussion with the relevant stakeholders.


The Trandport & Mass Transit department will initiate the bidding process of the project once the overall concept of the project proved to be socially and financially feasible for the government.
